What Does It Say About Our Love?

What does it say about our love if the closer you are, the less I recognize myself?

Someone once told me that love feels like coming home

What does it say about me, if I'm in a love that doesn't even feel familiar?

Maybe it is the white picket fence built all around me

Or maybe it is the fact that I'm trying to bury my roots in a place I've never been to

What does it say about the man I love, if he has a habit of spending nights in hotel rooms?

My love is foreign, it is untamed

But tonight your arms will makeshift a tent for me

And the heat of your chest, a furnace

that keeps me just warm enough

To fall into a deep slumber
