Nobody ever taught me how to love

Which means nobody ever taught me to fear it either

Flashback to eleven year old me,

looking love in the eyes, asking it to screw me over for the very first time

With many more to come

I was a brave little girl

Falling for a boy whose hazel eyes saw right past me

Love came easy after that

Fast forward to fourteen year old me,

T̶w̶o̶ ̶b̶o̶y̶s̶ two mistakes later,

We talked for the first time

It was like falling down a staircase

I was a clumsy little girl

Tripping over pretty boys with crooked smiles

and crooked boys with pretty smiles

Nobody ever taught me how to love

Which means nobody ever taught me when to stop either
