Haven't been able to find the right content on Indian television? With platforms like Youtube, Voot and Hotstar, we now have more to choose from. Here are 6 Indian web series that I have loved and that you should be binging on right now.

1. THE TRIP by Bindass, starring Lisa Haydon, Mallika Dua, Sapna Pabbi and Shwetha Tripathi, The Trip by Bindass is a desi girl’s version of ZNMD with a little bit of Hangover.

Fusing reality and some fantasy this short series about four girls who undertake a road trip all the way to Thailand, has friendship, fun, fashion, humor, music, love, nostalgia and everything in between. Despite the ample product placement and 14-15 minute long videos, it is easily my favorite Indian web series.

2. MAN'S WORLD by YFilms starring Gaurav Pandey as the lead and featuring special appearances of Parineeti Chopra, Kalki Koechlin and more is a four-part series which tackles, with a classic tale of role reversal, highlighting deep seated gender roles and stereotypes, that we often fail to even notice due to the sheer abundance of it.

It highlights the dynamics between men and women in the workplace and at home, without even directly addressing these issues, but simply through a shift of perspective and a light-hearted context.

3. LADIES ROOM also by YFilms, starring Saba Azad and Shreya Dhanwanthary, tracks the misadventures of Dingo and Khanna through a series of episodes all set in a series of Ladies Rooms.

Khanna is struggling with her job, and Dingo is struggling to get one. It's a new age story of two best friends and their encounters with work, sex, obnoxious bosses and colleagues. It's a fun and hilarious series with shows in a new and realistic light, the friendship and lifestyles of two twenty first century Indian women.

4. BETTER LIFE FOUNDATION produced by Stage 42 Production and Them Boxer Shorts, as part of #LaughterGames is a comedy series revolving around an NGO and it's workers, starring some of India's best comics, Naveen Richard, Sumukhi Suresh, Kanan Gill and more.

It bears resemblance to Parks and Recreation and The Office, with some exceptional cringe comedy. The characters are very well written and their interactions with each other make for some great laughs.

5. UNTAG A Voot Original, Untagged is the best out of the lot. Delving into the the lives of two roommates, Shikha (Anjali Anand) and Bunny (Meiyang Chang) and the tags that people associate with them, i.e. fat and gay, Untagged is about how they are so much more than just a fat girl and a gay guy.

Untag not only tells the story of friendship, love, breaking stereotypes but also celebrates individuality. I would recommend everyone to watch this series and also to share it with your friends. It really does offer the kind of quality content I want to see more and more produced by Indian creators.

6. IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE Another Voot Original, this one has a different demographic than the rest of the series I've mentioned above, directed towards an elder audience. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it a lot and was eager to recommend it to my mother. It's Not That Simple is a six-part series about the life of a thirty something, Meera, incredibly portrayed by Swara Bhaskar.

This is the journey of how Meera, a housewife in an unhappy marriage, discovers and liberates herself. With commendable camera work and an intriguing story that keeps you coming back for more, this series just couldn't go wrong.

If you liked the series I've mentioned above, you should also check out others like I Don't Watch TV, Bisht Please, Humorously Yours and Girl In The City. If there are any more that you think I've missed out on, write to me about them, and I'd love to check them out.
