We're No Strangers To Strangers

We are only as consequential As the for-sale signs that we have pinned to our backs, making the difference between irl and url as blurry as the pictures of the night sky we double tap on

And the stars that only twinkle on the little screens That we hold in our palms,

not making us wonder any longer what they are

Our fingers encompassing an entire universe, and yet, nothing at all

Finding comfort in perfect strangers, and strange unfamiliarity in the ones we lay beside

A life made easier is also one made more cruel. With instant messaging and instant delivery came uninvited, instant pain Instantly, our fingertips shape and thrust slurs like 'slut'and 'faggot' before we even know what they mean Our words are spearheads travelling distances we never will

We slander, unconfronted and take arms digging up buried hatchets unfriennding, unfollowing, unloving, coming undone.
